Potato and onion casserole: the recipe for the savory dish

Ingredients:
950 g of potatoes
Salt
500 g of onions
Olive oil
Butter
200 g of cheese
1 chilli pepper
Directions:
1. Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them in thin slices.
2. Add salt and boiling water, and leave it soaking for 30 minutes with a lid on.
3. Cut the onions in thin slices.
4. In a saucepan with some olive oil cook the onions with a little bit of salt.
5. Chop the chilli pepper and it to the onions.
6. Let cook until they soften.
7. In a saucepan let some butter melt and place the potato slices forming a thick layer.
8. Cover the potatoes with some cheese slices and the onions, the cover with some more cheese and another layer of potatoes.
9. Let cook for 5 minutes at the highest setting.
10. Cover with some baking paper.
11. Bake at 200 degrees for 50 minutes.
