published on 3 January, 2024 at 12:45
INGREDIENTS
For dough:
160ml (3/4 cup) of milk (lukewarm)
7g of dry yeast
30g (1/4 cup) of sugar
30ml (1/4 cup) of vegetable oil
10g (3/4 tbsp) of vanilla sugar
1 egg
430g (3 1/2 cups) of flour
5g (1/4 tbsp) of baking powder
Salt
15g (1 tbsp) of butter
For the pudding:
160ml (3/4 cup) of milk
30g (1/4 cup) of sugar
10g (3/4 tbsp) of vanilla sugar
15g (1/4 cup) of cornstarch
1 egg yolk
Egg for egg wash
Chocolate chips
METHOD
1. In a bowl add the milk (lukewarm), dry yeast, sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla sugar, and egg and mix. Sift the flour and baking powder, add the salt, and continue mixing. When all combined add the butter and knead it with your hands to obtain a smooth and compact dough. Cover with cling film and let it rise for 1 hour, or until is double in volume.
2. In a saucepan add the milk, sugar, vanilla sugar, corn starch, and egg yolk and whisk until thickens. Remove from the heat and let it cool.
3. After time has elapsed transfer the dough to the working surface and roll it out in a rectangle shape. Cut on strips and roll to each strip to obtain the roll. Transfer them to the baking tray covered with parchment paper and cover with cloth. Let them rise for 30 minutes.
4. After 30 minutes brush rolls with the egg and add the filling on the top. Add the chocolate chips to the filling.
5. Transfer to the oven and bake at 180°C/360°F for 25 minutes. Serve the rolls all together on a serving plate and enjoy.
