Biscuits strawberry cake: the perfect no-bake dessert for any special occasions!

No-bake, super easy and delicious!
INGREDIENTS
For the cream:
500 ml (2 cups) milk;
1 tsp vanilla extract;
6 egg yolks;
135 g (⅔ cup) sugar;
40 g (¼ cup) cornstarch;
15 g (1 tbsp) cold butter.
For the tile:
27 cookies;
200 ml (¾ cup) milk;
500 g (1 pound) strawberries.
METHOD
- Heat up the milk with vanilla extract until it reaches the boiling point.
- Meanwhile, whisk egg yolks with sugar until pale and mix in cornstarch. Start pouring hot milk into the yolks mixture in portions, while whisking constantly.
- Pour the egg and milk mixture back into the pan and cook, whisking, over medium heat for 5-6 minutes, until thick and smooth. Whisk in butter, leave to cool down.
- Dip cookies in milk quickly and layer 1/3 of them on a serving plate. Top with cream and 1/2 of chopped strawberries. Repeat layers of cookies cream and berries. Top with the last layer of cookies.
- Optionally: decorate with half of the strawberries and powdered sugar.
