Strawberry cake: a beautiful cake perfect for any occasion!

Simple to make and so beautiful, this is the perfect cake for a party!

INGREDIENTS

7 egg whites

1 pinch of salt

140g (3/4 cup) sugar

170g (3/4 cup) soft butter

120g (1 cup) powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

7 egg yolks

150g (1 1/5 cups) flour

100g (1 1/2 cups) sliced almonds

50g (1/4 cup) sugar

50ml (1/3 cup) cream

Strawberry jam

700g strawberries

600ml (2 1/2 cups) cream

500g cream cheese

50g (1/2 cup) powdered sugar

Powdered sugar for decorate

METHOD

Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt and sugar. In another bowl beat butter with powdered sugar and egg yolks, add in flour and mix it with whipped egg whites. Transfer to a baking pan and bake at 180 ' C ( 356 ' F) for 40 minutes.
Beat the cream and mix it with cream cheese, and sugar. Divide the dough into two pieces and spread first with strawberry jam, put strawberries onto it, cover with cream and second piece of the dought, refrigerate for 4 hours. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and decorate with prepared cream and strawberries.
