Here's a perfect dessert to surprise your guests!
INGREDIENTS
INGREDIENTS
For biscuits:
330g (1.6 cups) of sugar
250g (2 cups) wheat flour (oo)
90g (0.7 cup) of unsweetened cocoa powder
12g (3 tsp) baking powder
12g (3 tsp) of baking soda
1 tbsp tablespoon salt
2 eggs
250ml (1 cup) of milk
125ml (0.57 cup) of vegetable oil
5ml of vanilla extract
250ml (1.06 cup) of boiling water
For the buttercream:
250g (1 cup) of softened butter
400g (3.3 cups) powdered sugar
100g (1 cup) cocoa powder
100ml (0.41 cup) of milk
10ml of vanilla extract
For the decorating:
50g (0.2 cup) cherries
50g (0.3 cup) strawberries
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 180ºc. In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients, sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Combine eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, stir on medium speed until the ingredients become homogeneous, then add the mixture of dry ingredients little by little. When you get a fine mixture, add boiling water and stir for another 2 minutes.
- Pour the dough into baking tins, lined with baking paper, and take to the oven to bake for 30 or 35 minutes.
- When the biscuits are baked, take them out of the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes, then take them out of the mold and let them cool completely. Cut off the surface of the biscuits to make them approximately equal and flat.
- Whisk the softened butter, gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder and milk, stir until you get a consistent cream.
- Fold the cake. Put the first biscuit, then apply 70% as buttercream, and then the second layer of biscuit. Leave in the fridge for half an hour, then coat the whole cake with buttercream, decorate the cake with cherries and strawberries and leave in the fridge for 2 hours.
