Strawberry cake: how to make a perfect dessert for every occasion!

INGREDIENTS
70g (⅓ cup) butter;
¼ tsp salt;
15g (1 tbsp) sugar;
200ml (¾ cup) water;
200g (1 ⅝ cup) all-purpose flour;
5 eggs;
200g (⅔ cup) dulce de leche;
95g (1 cup) cookie crumbs;
500g (3 ½ cup) chopped strawberries;
1 liter (4 cups) full-fat cream.
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F (fan) or 200C/400F.
- Over the medium heat boil water with sugar, salt and butter until butter melts.
- Add flour and stir until it absorbs all the liquid.
- Transfer into a large bowl and add egg one at a time, while constantly working the batter with a hand mixer.
- Divide the batter into 5 equal parts and spread each one on a parchment-covered baking sheet, forming a circle as big as your cake ring.
- Bake each layer for 15 minutes. Cut one of the layers into little pieces and set aside for decoration.
- Beat 1 liter of cream and fold ⅔ of it chopped strawberries in.
- Mix cookie crumbs with dulce de leche. Spread into an even base layer, top with some cream and a choux pastry layer on top. Repeat until you use all of the choux pastry layers.
- Cover with leftover ⅓ cream and decorate with choux pastry pieces. Optionally add sliced strawberries and some more cream on top as decorations.
