A “suspended pizza” for doctors fighting Coronavirus: Carlo’s noble mission
published on 30 March, 2020 at 14:05
A "suspended pizza" for doctors who fight against Coronavirus, is the noble mission of Carlo Ricatto, owner of a pizzeria in Turin, to help them feel less alone in this tough battle. After making a first delivery to the Amedeo hospital in Savoy, Carlo began to do this every evening. Along with his team, he locked himself in his room, costantly working, because this is the best way for him to thank them. Although Carlo can’t open his pizzeria to the public, his customers can order a "suspended pizza" which Carlo will then deliver to the doctors on the ward. Carlo's initiative has touched the hearts of many people, leading other pizzerias and restaurants to follow his example. In less than a week, Carlo has collected almost 5000 euros. If you try to ask him what this time is going to teach us when it’s over, he replies: "In my opinion, it’s going to teach us to slow down from hectic everyday life and probably appreciate more the little things we took for granted. We had never suffered from not going out, maybe our grandparents did, but in a war situation, we didn’t, so I think we will all enjoy freedom".
