Jeremy, the chef with Down syndrome who challenges biases with his passion for cooking
published on 11 December, 2020 at 13:07
Jeremy is a 23-year-old man, born with Down syndrome, who has found the perfect recipe to break down the limits of his disability and express what he can’t communicate through words thanks to the universal language of love: good food. This love was born when he was just a child and he spent hours watching his mother in awe as she prepared his favorite dishes, until, one day, a detail triggered the spark in Jeremy’s parents, who realized what his real dream was. For a parent, seeing their child smile is the most important thing. So, Jeremy’s mother decided to fuel this passion and help him realize his dream: cooking the dishes himself for his loved ones. So, recipe after recipe, this young dreamer cook started to feel like the great starred chefs he admired as a child when watching TV. Whenever Jeremy puts his hands in the dough, his eyes sparkle with joy. As we all know, is the cook who gives a soul to his dishes, and he has found a way to bring life to his emotions within those dishes. He smiles every time in front of the stove, already thinking of the next recipe.
