Garlic sfogliatella: perfect for lunch or dinner!

INGREDIENTS
 7g (0.2 oz) dry yeast;
 ¼ cup warm water;
 1 tsp sugar;
 ½ cup milk;
 1 egg;
 3 tbsp olive oil;
 ½ tsp salt;
 1 tbsp white vinegar;
 3 cups flour;
 ½ tsp baking powder;
 ½ cup butter, softened;
 2 garlic cloves, minced;
 Sliced scallions;
 Cream cheese to taste.
 
METHOD
  1.  Whisk sugar and yeast in warm water. Set aside until bubbly.
  2.  In a separate bowl whisk milk with eggs, salt, vinegar and olive oil.
  3.  Combine flour with baking powder and pour yeast and milk mixtures in. Knead until smooth dough forms and set it aside until doubled in size.
  4.  Mix soft butter with salt, pepper and garlic.
  5.  Cut the dough into quarters, roll each piece out and brush with soft butter. Top with sliced scallions.
  6.  Stack the dough sheets on top of each other and then roll everything tightly.
  7.  Slice the log into 10 pieces, flatten with your hands and add some cream cheese in the middle. Fold in half and pinch the sides.
  8.  Brush each bun with some butter and set aside for 20 minutes, then bake at 200C/400F for 10-12 minutes.
