The world's most spectacular luxury restaurant cooks for the homeless during the Coronavirus
published on 7 May, 2020 at 15:36
It is the first restaurant in the world to combine food, art, theater, and music to make its guests live an adventure that goes beyond the simple cooking experience. It's called Alchemist, is located in Copenhagen and originated from the idea of the chef Rasmus Munk. Being fond of theater, he wanted to give his customers the feeling of being the actors of a play, making them forget, for a few hours, the world outside. He divided the dinner into 4 acts for a total of 50 tastings, which he called "impressions". The tour starts outside the building with a mystical music that accompanies the guests' entrance to the first room. First, you enter a 50-meter high cellar made of glass where you can have an aperitif. Then you’ll walk into a dome. Here is where you can live the experience to the fullest and savor the most particular dishes such as the "Danish Kiss", a puree of beets, blackberries and fresh blueberries placed on a silicone tongue, all accompanied by visual and sound effects of northern lights or floating jellyfish. While offering such a particular experience, the priority for young chef Munk is good food where the search for quality food remains the most important thing. Like many restaurants, the Alchemist has also been affected by Coronavirus but Rasmus Munk and all of his staff have decided not to stop by converting the restaurant and preparing traditional food for the homeless.
