In Florence there’s the first restaurant in the world where you can pay with your favorite records

This is the first restaurant in the world where you can eat without spending money, but paying with your favorite music. The idea of paying on vinyl is a format called "Vinyl Coin", in this way vinyl becomes a payment method for dinner. It's called Melloo, is located in Florence and originated from the idea of Massimo Mauceri. He has always been a music lover, and has found a way to combine his two greatest passions: food and vinyl records. So, every evening Massimo turns his restaurant into a music club and his customers into real DJs for the night. Actually, customers can choose a record from the private collection of this restaurant and listen to it as background music for dinner. Thanks to this innovative idea, Massimo has found an original way to expand his vinyl collection more and more, offering, at the same time, a unique experience. His customers can trade the value of their vinyl against their bill. Vinyl Coin works like this: go to dinner, bring your vinyl disks and then they are evaluated at the end of the evening. The vinyl is evaluated using a site that assigns codes both for title of the record and the condition of the vinyl and the cover. If the value of the disc is higher than the value of the dinner, vouchers will be issued, which can be spent later inside the room. In this place, in addition to discovering new music, customers can also taste the specialties of the house, such as different types of pizzas or burgers, along with a large variety of fresh craft beer. If it is true that music is food for the soul, Massimo's guests have the opportunity to taste the notes of the most beautiful songs ever, sharing the soundtrack of their life with other music fans, and eating a delicious dinner.
