Pub regular recreates his favorite pub in virtual reality so he can meet his mates

Imagine living in a parallel reality with your closest friends, without leaving home or violating social distancing rules. Tristan Cross is a guy from London who had a brilliant intuition while he was in a video call with his friends. He decided to live a unique experience with them: rebuilding the local pub in VR. So, with just a laptop and hours of tutorials on YouTube, Tristan started designing the pub. Normally, a project like this would have taken 3 to 4 months, but his desire to escape from his home, even if virtually, was so great. Within an afternoon, Tristan had already recreated a fairly large room. So, after examining every single corner of his favorite pub, Tristan managed to recreate every detail: from the red walls to the velvet stools, from the soft lights to the sparkling counter. But, while keeping everything as in reality, Tristan wanted to add an original touch: instead of works of art, he hung framed pictures of his friends on the walls, to get them even more involved. And, after 2 and a half weeks of work, the rebuilding of the pub was finally ready. Finally, Tristan thought of an alternative way to involve his dearest friends in this crazy project: create a video call system that would allow you to see and feel yourself inside the virtual pub, as if they were really there to share that moment together. In such a difficult period it is easy to miss our cherished places where we can share moments and experiences with the people closest to us. But Tristan has found a creative way to feel less alone and keep on meeting his friends, even if just virtually.
