Chocolate brioche donuts: they are just irresistible!

INGREDIENTS
100ml (1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) warm water;
1 egg;
100ml (⅓ cup + 1 tbsp) warm milk;
60ml (¼ cup) vegetable oil;
6g fresh yeast;
400g (3 ¼ cup) flour;
1 tsp salt;
25g (2 tbsp) sugar;
70g (⅓ cup) soft butter;
Chopped dark chocolate;
Egg wash.
METHOD
- Whisk warm milk and water with some sugar. Add fresh yeast into the mixture and whisk until dissolved. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Add an egg, vegetable oil, flour and salt. Mix to combine, then knead for 10 minutes.
- Form the dough into a ball and cover with plastic. Set aside for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Brush with soft butter and fold twice. Sprinkle with flour and roll out into a rectangle again.
- Slice into 12 strips and form each into a donut as shown in the video.
- Set the donuts aside to rise again for 30 minutes, then brush with egg wash and top with chopped chocolate.
- Bake for 20 minutes at 180C/350F.
