Orange donut cake: fragrant, moist, and tender

With freshly squeezed orange juice and orange zest, this cake is a must-try! 

INGREDIENTS
• 2 oranges
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup sugar
• 5 eggs
• 225g / 1.5 cups sugar
• 75g / 0.5 cup butter
• 150ml / 5.3oz orange juice
•pinch of salt
• 8g baking powder
• 1 tbsp orange zest
• 4 cups flour
 
Orange sauce:
• 1 cup orange juice
• 3 tbsp sugar
 
METHOD
  1. Two oranges cut into slices. Mix a cup of water and a cup of sugar, bring to a boil and put slices of orange.
  2. Beat 5 eggs. Add sugar and beat until white. Add melted butter, orange juice, zest, flour, salt and baking powder. Beat well.
  3. Grease the donut mold with butter and put the orange slices. Pour the mix. Bake for 30 minutes at 180 ° C / 350 ° F.
  4. Mix one cup of orange juice with three tablespoons of sugar and bring to a boil. Pour the prepared mixture onto the prepared donut.
