Giant custard pie: a delicious Italian recipe to try!

This is the perfect dessert for any occasion!

INGREDIENTS
Dough:
300g / 2.4 cups flour (all purpose)
2 eggs
80g / 0.4 cup sugar
100g / 0.44 cup butter
1 tsp baking powder
Salt
½ tsp vanilla

Cream:
2 yolks
80g / 0.4 cup sugar
50 g corn starch
600ml / 2.45 cups milk
½ tsp vanilla
Black cherry in syrup
Icing sugar
 
METHOD
  1. Mix all ingredients for the dough and knead. Let stand for 30 minutes.
  2. Mix the yolks with sugar. Add starch, milk, vanilla. Brew the cream.
  3. Put 2/3 of the dough into the mold. Put custard and cherries on the dough. Cover with 1/3 of the dough. Join the edges well. Grease the top of the pie with butter. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 30 minutes at 180 ° C / 350 ° F.
  4. Sprinkle the finished cake with icing sugar.
