Gingerbread House: the step-by-step recipe to make it perfect for the holidays

Ingredients:
- For the dough:
50 g of honey
100 ml of water
200 g of brown sugar
1 tsp of ginger
1 tsp of minced cloves
1 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of nutmeg
120 ml of sunflower seeds oil
680 g of spelt flour
1/2 tsp of baking soda
- For the icing:
2 egg whites
1 tsp of lemon juice
400 g of powdered sugar
- For decoration:
Icing
50 g of melted dark chocolate
Sprinkles
Directions:
1. Pour water, honey and brown sugar; then add all fo the spices.
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat then turn off the stove.
3. After that pour the mixture into a bowl with oil.
4. Add flour and baking soda, then knead into a smooth and even dough.
5. Wrap it in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
6. For the icing: whisk egg whites with lemon juice and stir in powdered sugar.
7. Pour in a piping bag and refrigerate until it's time to use it.
8. Flatten the dough using a rollin pin, then cut different house pieces using cookie cutters or a knife.
9. Arrange on a tray and bake at 180° for 15 minutes. Then let cool completely.
10. Decorate with icing, chocolate and sprinkles.
11. Lastly assemble the house using icing to glue the pieces to each other.
