Glazed Gingerbread Donuts: everyone will love them!

INGREDIENTS
250g (2 cups) all-purpose flour;
40g (¼ cup) sugar;
a pinch of salt;
a pinch of nutmeg;
1 tbsp powdered ginger;
1 tbsp powdered cinnamon;
1 egg;
120ml (½ cup) warm milk;
40g (⅙ cup) butter, melted;
5g dry yeast;
Sugar glaze for dipping;
Food gel and colored glaze for decoration.
METHOD
- Whisk warm milk, melted butter, egg, sugar and dry yeast until yeast dissolves.
- In a separate bowl whisk flour with spices and salt.
- Combine dry and wet ingredients and knead until smooth dough forms.
- Form the dough into a ball, cover and set aside for 1 hour.
- After the dough has doubled in size roll it out into a rectangle 3-4 mm thick and cut out gingerbread men. Re-roll leftover dough and repeat.
- Let the ginger men proof again, covered with plastic wrap, for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oil to 180C/350F. Fry gingerbread donuts for 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Dip hot donuts in the liquid glaze, then set aside to let the excess glaze drip off.
- Decorate donuts with a more colorful glaze and serve.
