Apple pie: the traditional american dessert!

APPLE PIE

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
6 apples
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 Pie crusts
1 egg white
Additional sugar




Combine the sugars, flour and spices
Mix apples with lemon juice.
Add sugar mixture to apples
Line a baking form with crust
Fill with apple mixture. Place second crust over over filling
Beat egg white until foamy; brush over pastry. Sprinkle with sugar. Cover edges with foil.
Bake at 375°/190°C for 25 minutes.
Remove foil and bake 20-25 minutes until crust is golden brown
