Magic cake: the end result will surprise you!
published on 7 August, 2020 at 16:16
It's called magic cake, the reason? 1 batter and 3 consistencies!
INGREDIENTS
For 8 inches (20 cm) square baking dish:
115g (1 cup) of cake flour
4 medium eggs, room temperature
150g (0.75 cup) of white sugar
2 tbsp (30ml) oil
125g (0.5 cup) melted butter + as needed to brush the pan
1 tbsp (15ml) vanilla extract
500ml (2.04 cups) of warm, fresh whole milk
1 tbsp (15ml) lemon juice
1 pinch of salt
For sprinkling
Powdered sugar, to taste
METHOD
- Start by melting the butter, then allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Then remove the eggs, at room temperature, and separate the yolks from the egg whites. Add sugar to the egg yolks and stir until you get a fine frothy mass. Add cold water, vanilla extract, a pinch of salt and finally butter. Add the flour that has been previously sifted.
- Beat the egg whites with the lemon juice to get solid snow. Add the egg whites to the previously prepared mass. That's it, pour the mixture into a baking dish.
- Coat the mold with butter and line with baking paper. Bake at 150 degrees, 80 minutes.
- After the cake has cooled, sprinkle it with powdered sugar. Enjoy.
