The sweet and friendly Nonna Gina returns with her delicious recipes that she prepares in the United States. Today prepare the scartellate or cartellate, the natal sweets stuffed with walnuts.
Ingredients:
Dough:
1 kg of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
Salt to taste.
50 gr butter
170 g sugar
8 eggs
Witch liquor q.b.

Directions:
Sift the flour on the work surface, then add the salt and butter. Beat the eggs with sugar and liqueur and add to the mixture, knead it. Then let the dough rest for 30 minutes. Then cut the dough into rectangular and thin strips. Form the cartellate as shown in the video and fry in boiling oil. Cook the walnuts in honey and then stuff the sweets.
