published on 28 February, 2024 at 20:00
INGREDIENTS
120ml (1/2 cup) of milk
40g of eggs
40g (1/4 cup) of sugar
7g of dry yeast
220g (1 3/4 cups) of all-purpose flour
5g (3/4 tsp) of salt
40g (1/4 cup) of butter
METHOD
1. In a bowl add the milk, eggs, sugar, and dry yeast and mix with a spatula. Add the flour and salt and continue with mixing. When the dough starts to form add the butter and continue with mixing to incorporate. Cover with cling film and let it rest for 30 minutes.
2. After 30 minutes detach the dough from the edges with the help of a spatula and raise the dough with fingers. Cover with cling film and let it rest for 30 minutes.
3. After 30 minutes repeat the process and cover dough with cling film. Let it rise for 2 hours, or until is double in volume.
4. After time has elapsed transfer the dough to a working surface and flatten it with hands. Split it into 8 equal pieces and form the balls. Cover with a cloth and let them rest for 15 minutes.
5. After 15 minutes roll out each ball into a long oval shape (about 16cm). Transfer them to the baking tray covered with parchment paper. Let them rise for 1 hour, or until is double in volume.
6. After rising brush the buns with egg and transfer to the oven. Bake at 180°C/360°F for 15 minutes.
7. Cut them in half leaving the bottom part uncut and fill with whipped cream.
8. Serve them all together and decorate them with powdered sugar.
