published on 9 May, 2023 at 18:00
INGREDIENTS
120ml (1/2 cup) of milk (lukewarm)
30g (2 tbsp) of sugar
3g of dry yeast
30g of eggs
220g (1 3/4 cups) of all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp of salt
20g (1 1/2 tbsp) of butter
For the top part
50g (1/4 cup) of all-purpose flour
1/2 tbsp of sugar
1 tsp of black sesame seeds
50ml (1/4 cup) of water
Egg for brushing
Hazelnut cream
METHOD
1. In a bowl add the milk, sugar, yeast, eggs, flour, and salt and mix until well combined. When the dough starts to form knead it with your hands. Add the butter and knead until the dough is smooth. Cover with cling film and let it rise for 45 minutes.
2. After time has elapsed transfer the dough to the working surface and divide it into 9 equal pieces. Form the balls and let them rest for 10 minutes.
3. After 10 minutes roll out each ball and fold it to obtain the bun's shape. Transfer them to the baking tray covered with parchment paper, cover them with cloth, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
4. Meanwhile prepare the top filling by mixing the flour, sugar, black sesame seeds, and water.
5. Brush them with the egg and cover with the prepared filling. Transfer to the oven and bake at 170°C/338°F for 20 minutes.
6. After baking, fill the buns with hazelnut cream and serve.
