CHOCOLATE CHIACCHIERE: a variation of the traditional recipe for a delicious Carnival!

Chocolate chiacchiere are a delicious twist on the traditional Carnival treat. The addition of unsweetened cocoa powder gives them a rich and intense flavor, perfect for chocolate lovers. Light, crispy, and irresistible, these chiacchiere melt in your mouth, delivering a burst of sweetness with every bite. Topped with a dusting of powdered sugar, they will make your Carnival celebrations even more special!
INGREDIENTS
200ml (3/4 cup) fresh cream
210g (1 2/3 cups) all-purpose flour
20g (2 tbsp) unsweetened cocoa powder
Peanut oil (for frying)
Powdered sugar (for garnish)
METHOD
1. Pour all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Then, start kneading with your hands until you obtain a smooth dough ball.
2. Heat the oil to 170°C (338°F).
3. To make rolling out the dough easier, divide it into two parts and roll it out very thin, about 2 mm thick.
4. Using a fluted pastry cutter, cut out rectangles that will become your chiacchiere.
5. When the oil reaches the right temperature, fry 3-4 chiacchiere until golden brown. You will see bubbles forming on the surface. It will take about 4 minutes.
6. While still warm, dust them with powdered sugar. Once cooled, you can add more if desired.
