GOLDEN SYRUP: caramelized sugar syrup to sweeten your desserts!

INGREDIENTS
700g (3 1/2 cups) sugar
500ml (2 cups) water
20ml (1 tbsp + 1 tsp) lemon juice
METHOD
1. Pour the sugar and water into a saucepan.
2. Place over medium heat, stirring until the mixture comes to a boil.
3. Add the lemon juice and stir again.
4. Lower the heat to minimum and let it gently simmer for about 40 minutes without stirring, until you obtain a lightly amber-colored syrup.
5. Turn off the heat and wait for the bubbles to disappear.
6. Pour the golden syrup into a jar and seal it.
