Century egg: the traditional process for preserving eggs

Century egg is a traditional Chinese method for preserving eggs.
In a jar, mix salt and edible caustic soda, add water and mix well. At this point, the eggs are inserted and left for two weeks. Subsequently, the eggs are first wrapped in plastic wrap and newsprint, then put in a box and left for 8 weeks. After this period, the eggs darken and are ready to be used in different dishes.
