A round dessert with "human bones": a delicious treat for celebrating Day of the Dead

Eggs, flour, butter, sugar and a pinch of orange peel. This is the el de pan de muerto recipe, a typical Mexican dish prepared on the occasion of the Day of the Dead. It has a round shape with pieces that resemble human bones. According to tradition it must be placed on the altar of the dead as a gesture of welcome; it is believed that the souls of the dead consume the "essence" of the food.
