SAUSAGE WREATH: a tempting centerpiece for your Christmas dinner!

INGREDIENTS
2 sheets of puff pastry
10 large sausages
150g sliced prosciutto
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp milk
Poppy seeds, to taste
Aromatic herbs (dill and rosemary)
METHOD
1. Cut each sausage into 3 equal pieces using a cutting board and a knife.
2. Use one sausage piece as a measuring unit to cut the puff pastry, then divide it in half to obtain about 10 pastry pieces.
3. Wrap each sausage piece in a piece of puff pastry, keeping the seam side down.
4. Cut a strip of puff pastry about 5 cm high.
5. Place 2 slices of prosciutto crudo on a cutting board and lay the pastry strip on top.
6. Roll two small tubes of parchment paper and place them in the center of the strip.
7. Create a bow by folding each side of the strip over its parchment paper tube, then secure the center to form the bow shape.
8. Tighten the center further using a slice of prosciutto crudo.
9. Create the bow’s ribbon by placing 2 slices of prosciutto crudo on another pastry strip. Shape it into a ribbon by trimming the ends to create a V-cut on each side.
10. Place an upside-down bowl in the center of a baking tray lined with parchment paper and arrange the prepared sausage rolls around it like a wreath.
11. Position the bow’s ribbon with the V-cut ends under the sausage rolls and insert two parchment paper tubes to keep the ribbon lifted.
12. Place the bow on top of the ribbon.
13. Mix the egg yolk and milk in a bowl, brush the surface of the sausage rolls, and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
14. Bake at 190°C (375°F) for about 20 minutes.
