Baked cream: a delicious dessert that everyone will love

INGREDIENTS
620ml (2 1/2 cups) of milk
Vanilla extract
4 egg yolks
80g (1/2 cup) of sugar
70g (1/2 cup) of cornstarch
Egg yolk
Powdered sugar
METHOD
1. In a saucepan pour the milk and vanilla extract and bring it to a boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
2. In a mixing bowl add the egg yolks and sugar and mix until sugar dissolves. Add the cornstarch and mix to obtain a lumps-free mixture.
3. Pour the hot milk into the mixing bowl and mix it well. Transfer to the heat and cook until it thickens.
4. Pour the cream into the baking dish covered with cling film and level it up with a spatula. Cover with cling film and transfer to the fridge for 30 minutes.
5. After time has elapsed transfer the cream to the cutting board and cut it into cubes about 2×2 cm in size.
6. Transfer the cream cubes to the baking tray covered with parchment paper and brush with the egg yolk. Bake in oven at 190°C/374°F for 15 minutes.
7. Serve baked cream cubes on a serving dish and decorate it with powdered sugar.
