PANFORTE: the typical dessert from Siena for the Christmas holidays! 🤩🌟

INGREDIENTS
150g all-purpose flour
150g honey
150g sugar
30ml water
100g blanched almonds
100g unblanched almonds
100g toasted hazelnuts
70g candied orange peel
70g candied citron
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
METHOD
1. In a large bowl, combine the nuts, flour, spices, and candied fruits.
2. Mix with a spoon until the ingredients are well combined.
3. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water.
4. Heat over the stove, stirring continuously, until it almost reaches a boil.
5. Add the honey and continue stirring over low heat until you obtain a homogeneous syrup.
6. Pour the syrup over the nut mixture and mix until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
7. Spread the mixture into a baking pan lined with parchment paper, compacting it with a spoon.
8. Bake at 180°C for about 25 minutes.
