How to make the perfect Naan bread!

Make your own Indian flatbreads at home and you'll never go back to buying them.

INGREDIENTS
 250g (1 ⅔ cup) self-raising flour;
 1 tsp baking powder;
 ½ tsp salt;
 100ml (⅓ cup+1 tbsp) milk;
 1 egg;
 20g (1 ½ tsp) sugar;
 15ml (1 tbsp) vegetable oil.
 
METHOD
  1.  Whisk flour with baking powder, salt and sugar.
  2.  In a separate bowl whisk egg, milk and oil.
  3.  Pour liquids into dry ingredients, then knead until dough forms.
  4.  Form the dough into a ball and set it aside for 30 minutes.
  5.  Cut the dough into quarters and roll it into balls.
  6.  Set balls aside for 20 minutes, then roll them out into a disk.
  7.  Spray flatbread with water and place wet side down on a hot pan.
  8.  Cook for 1 minute, then turn the pan with the bread upside down and char the top of the naan over the flames.
  9.  Brush with butter before serving.
