It’s called chalaza: it’s that white string inside an egg: but do you know what’s it for?

After cracking a raw egg open, you’ve probably noticed a small white string between yolk and albumen. Some remove it and some leave it, but few people know what it is and what it is for. It’s called chalaza and has an important protein and “structural” purpose, in fact it acts as a rope to keep the yolk stable and prevent it from opening.
