Today I am in Ischia and I am going to show you how to make the classic sandwich of this Island.
I’m talking about Zingara
First, we are just going to heat up the bread.
The original recipe is made with ‘’pane cafone’. It means “Peasant Bread”, it is a simple type of bread that used to be used by ‘’Cafoni’’, people of lower class.
Add a thin layer of mayonnaise.
Then place some sliced mozzarella on top.
We add tomatoes.
Lettuce.
And a pinch of salt and olive oil.
Now the King Parma ham!
Let’s finish toasting it.
We cut it in half .
