How to grow a mango tree from seed
published on 22 May, 2018 at 11:02
The mango seed is contained within a kernel. So first, help yourself with a knife to open it. Once the seed is extracted, place it in a container and use a tissue to wrap it in. The seed must be in the dark and the wipe must be wetted completely to ensure moisture conditions. The necessary conditions for sprouts are: the darkness, humidity and an average temperature. Place the container with the seed at home, or in a dry environment, and after 5 days check the growth conditions. If the tissue dries, add water.
After 8 days check the growth conditions, it should already have grown to the point of being planted but to be sure we recommend waiting 2 weeks. After 2 weeks we can finally extract the seed and plant it in a vase about 30 cm high. Make a hole using a pencil, and place the part out of the seed in the most perpendicular way possible with respect to the ground, taking care not to damage it. Then lightly crush the soil around with your hands and water with plenty of water. At this point we need light conditions, and we can cover the seed with a wet handkerchief. Once it is grown enough, remove the tissue, and then transfer it. Always ensure that the plant is in wet conditions, then water it according to conditions.
