A sweet treat you'll fall in love with!
INGREDIENTS
INGREDIENTS
1 pandoro;
½ cup sugar;
2 tbsp water;
180 g (6 oz) dark chocolate;
¼ cup milk;
½ cup vanilla pudding;
1 cup milk.
METHOD
- Start with vanilla pudding by combining milk with dry pudding mixture and cooking it over low heat until thick and lump-free. Leave to cool down completely.
- Cut out pandoro circles using round pastry cutters. Make another circle cut in the middle of larger circles for the custard.
- Skewer pandoro circles to form candles of any size you would like.
- Melt chocolate with ¼ cup milk. Brush melted chocolate over the candles, place them on parchment and leave to set.
- Fill each gap in candle with pastry cream, cover the top of each candle with sugar glaze and set aside again.
- Make a quick caramel by boiling sugar with 2 tbsp of water until golden.
- Place toothpicks on a piece of parchment and pour tablespoons of caramel onto one side of the toothpick to form the flame shape.
- Place ‘flames’ inside each candle and serve.
