Chocolate squares: the delicious and easy to prepare dessert!

The whole family will love this recipe!
INGREDIENTS
For the sponge cake layer:
3 eggs
150g (3/4 cup) sugar
pinch of salt
5g (1 tsp) vanilla sugar
200ml (4/5 cup) milk
80ml (1/2 cup) vegetable oil
30g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
190g (1 1/4 cup) flour
8g (1 tsp) baking powder
200ml (4/5 cup) hot milk (to pour over sponge cake)
For the cream layer:
300ml (1 cup + 3 tbsp) heavy cream
250g (1 1/6 cups) Mascarpone
For the chocolate layer:
200g dark chocolate
50g (3 tbsp) chopped nuts
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/360°F.
- In a bowl whisk eggs with sugar, a pinch of salt, and vanilla sugar until smooth. Whisk in milk and oil.
- Sieve cocoa powder into the mixture and stir until homogeneous. Stir in flour and baking powder.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 min.
- Poke baked sponge cake with a fork and pour hot milk over the top of the cake. Set aside.
- In a bowl whip heavy cream until starting to be thick, then add mascarpone and continue to whip until thick and smooth.
- Spread the cream on top of the sponge cake and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
- Melt dark chocolate and stir in chopped nuts. Pour over the top of the chilled cake.
- Wait until set and slice into squares. Enjoy!
