Filo rolls: these mouthwatering morsels are amazing!

A cheaper and healthier alternative to sausage rolls, these delicious filo rolls make a perfect pre-dinner nibble or snack ready in minutes!

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 pack of filo dough (800 g)
 
For greasing;
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • pinch salt
 
For filling;
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 2 medium onions
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 yolks
  •  
METHOD
  1. Mix ingredients for greasing
  2. Add butter and onion in a frying pan, cook for 3-5 minutes
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and fry until the meat is ready.
  4. Grease filo dough with an oil mixture, cover with another layer of dough (there should be 8 pieces in one roll)
  5. Put the stuffing and roll
  6. Beat eggs with yolks and grease top of the rolls.
  7. Bake at 200°C/400°F for 10-15 minutes
