You've never seen anything so surprising!

INGREDIENTS

250g (2 cups) flour;

4g dry yeast;

90ml (1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) warm milk;

a pinch of salt;

35g (3 tbsp) sugar;

30ml (2 tbsp) vegetable oil;

1 tbsp sugar

1 egg;

¼ tsp vanilla powder;

35g (3 tbsp) butter;

2 green apples;

½ tsp cinnamon;

20g (1 ½ tbsp) brown sugar.

METHOD

Combine half of the sugar with warm milk and yeast. Set aside for the yeast to activate.
Whisk flour and salt. Pour warm milk in, add vegetable oil and ½ beaten egg.
Knead the dough until smooth, form into a ball and set aside for 1 hour.
Make an apple filling by sauteing chopped apples with brown sugar, butter and cinnamon for 5-7 minutes. Let cool completely.
Cut the dough into 8 pieces and roll each into a ball. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
Roll the dough out into an oval, place a heaping tablespoon of apple mixture in the middle. Pinch the edges together then form a leaf as shown in the video. Cut with scissors.
Set the buns aside for 10 minutes, then brush with another half of the beaten egg and bake at 180C/350F for 13-15 minutes.
