Neapolitan panini: here’s how to prepare them at home.
published on 12 April, 2017 at 12:23
INGREDIENTS450g flour
125ml water
125ml milk
2 tsp salt
15g yeast
4 tbsp of olive oil
DIRECTIONS
Melt the fresh yeast in the milk and water, add the olive oil and then slowly add the flour. As the dough starts to take shape, add the salt and continue kneading until your dough is soft and compact. Cover it with a dish cloth and let it rise for about two hours in the oven with the light on. When it has doubled in volume, roll out the dough into a rectangle. Now, add the ham, salami, and cubed cheese. If you’d like, you can also add hard boiled eggs. Lastly, add a sprinkle of pepper and Parmesan cheese. Roll the dough up and slice it into 3 cm slices. Let them rise for an hour and then bake them at 180°C for 30 minutes. If you want them to get golden and crunchy, brush them with an egg wash made with an egg yolk mixed with a tablespoon of milk.
