Spiral cherry pie: a clever idea for making a tasty dessert
published on 1 July, 2017 at 16:13
Easy to prepare and tasty. Perfect for the summer! By using only three ingredients, you’ll be able to surprise your guests with this tasty dessert:Ingredients
50g sugar
cherries
4 sheets of shortcrust pastry
Directions
First, remove the pits from the cherries and place them in a bowl. Add a tablespoon of sugar to them. Divide a sheet of shortcrust pastry into 3 rectangles. Dust the short crust pastry with a teaspoon of sugar and arrange the cherries, one by one, in vertical rows on the three rectangles. Roll up each rectangle so they form three ropes. Now, starting in the center of a pie dish, lined with parchment paper, form a spiral with the first ‘rope’ and keep adding other ropes to it to make it larger (as seen in the video). Bake the pie at 180°C for 40 minutes ( the baking time varies from oven to oven, so keep an eye on the pie as it is baking!). Once the pie is baked, dust with some powdered sugar and serve with a scoop of ice cream.
