Savory panettone: the perfect appetizer for your holidays party!

INGREDIENTS
225g (8 oz) flour;
25g (0.8 oz) sugar;
1/3 cup warm milk;
1 egg;
40g (1.4 oz) butter;
1 tsp yeast;
a pinch of salt;
Mayonnaise, tomato, lettuce, tuna for serving.
METHOD
- Whisk sugar with warm milk and dry yeast and set the mixture aside to activate and bubble up.
- Add melted and cooled butter and an egg, whisk and start adding flour with salt while kneading the dough with the dough hooks.
- Knead until the dough forms into a smooth ball, cover and set aside until doubled in size.
- Knead the dough once more, form into a ball and place inside panettone baking mold. Leave the dough in a warm place until it fills the mold 2/3 way up. Brush the top with egg wash and bake with a bowl of water inside the oven at 170C/340F for 30 minutes.
- Slice cooled panettone into 5-6 slices and layer with tomato, lettuce and tune, covering each layer with mayonnaise.
