County fair fried dough: simple to make and super delicious!

Crispy elephant ears made of fried dough, too delicious not to try them!
INGREDIENTS
INGREDIENTS
2/3 cup milk;
1 tbsp yeast;
400 g (14 oz) flour;
80 g (2.8 oz) sugar+for serving;
80 g (2.8 oz) sugar+for serving;
zest of 1 lemon;
¼ cup vegetable oil+for frying.
METHOD
- Combine warm milk with a pinch of sugar and yeast. Set aside for 10 minutes for the yeast to activate.
- Mix leftover sugar with lemon zest. Pour yeast solution and vegetable oil in. Knead the dough until it is smooth and set aside in warm place for 1 hour or doubled in size.
- Cut the dough into portions, roll each one out into a disk and fry in preheated vegetable oil for around 2-3 minutes (until crispy and golden on each side).
- Cover in sugar right after removing from the oil and serve.
