County fair fried dough: simple to make and super delicious!

Crispy elephant ears made of fried dough, too delicious not to try them!

INGREDIENTS
 2/3 cup milk;
 1 tbsp yeast;
 400 g (14 oz) flour; 
80 g (2.8 oz) sugar+for serving;
 zest of 1 lemon;
 ¼ cup vegetable oil+for frying.
 
METHOD
  1.  Combine warm milk with a pinch of sugar and yeast. Set aside for 10 minutes for the yeast to activate.
  2.  Mix leftover sugar with lemon zest. Pour yeast solution and vegetable oil in. Knead the dough until it is smooth and set aside in warm place for 1 hour or doubled in size.
  3.  Cut the dough into portions, roll each one out into a disk and fry in preheated vegetable oil for around 2-3 minutes (until crispy and golden on each side).
  4.  Cover in sugar right after removing from the oil and serve.
