published on 5 August, 2024 at 10:45
INGREDIENTS
350ml (1 1/2 cups) of water
7g of dry yeast
550g (4 1/2 cups) of flour
9g (1/2 tbsp) of salt
50g of molasses
100ml (1/2 cup) of water
Sesame seeds (roasted)
METHOD
1. In a bowl add the water and yeast and whisk until yeast dissolves. Gradually add flour and mix with the wooden spoon. Add the salt and mix to combine. When dough starts to form knead it with your hands to obtain a smooth dough. Cover with cling film and let it rise for 30 minutes.
3. In a small bowl add the molasses and water and mix to combine.
4. After 30 minutes transfer the dough to the working surface and split it into 6 equal pieces. Form the balls.
5. Roll out each ball into the tin strip and make the bagel shape. Dip each bagel into the molasses/water mixture and then coat it with the roasted sesame seeds.
6. Transfer them to the baking tray covered with parchment paper. Bake in oven at 190°C/374°F for 20/25 minutes.
7. Serve them all together on a serving dish and enjoy.
