Savory croissants: super fluffy and perfect for a delicious dinner
published on 21 October, 2023 at 21:00
INGREDIENTS
520g (4 1/4 cups) of all-purpose flour
7g of dry yeast
60g (1/4 cup) of butter (melted)
320ml (1 1/4 cups) of milk
15g (4/5 tbsp) of salt
100g of cooked ham
150g of cheese
For brushing:
100g (1/2 cup) of butter (melted)
2 cloves of garlic
METHOD
1. In a bowl add the flour, and yeast and whisk. Add the butter (melted), milk, and salt and continue with mixing. When the dough starts to form knead it with hands to obtain a smooth dough. Cover with cling film and let it rise for 3 hours, or until is double in volume.
2. After time has elapsed transfer the dough to the working surface and roll it out into a round shape. Cut it with a pizza cutter into 12 pieces
3. Arrange the top part of each piece of ham and cheese and roll them out to obtain a croissant shape.
4. Transfer them to the baking tray covered with parchment paper, cover with cloth, and let them rise for 1 hour.
5. Meanwhile prepare the mixture for brushing by mixing the butter (melted) and garlic.
6. Brush the croissants with butter/garlic mixture and transfer to the oven. Bake at 180°C/360°F for 25 minutes.
7. Serve croissants all together on a serving plate and enjoy.
