Pumpkin buns: almost too beautiful to eat!

They are slightly sweet and totally festive with their easy and adorable pumpkin shapes!

INGREDIENTS
 ½ cup pumpkin puree;
 ½ cup warm milk;
 3 tbsp butter, melted;
 1 egg;
 60 g (2 oz) brown sugar;
 a pinch of salt;
 2 tsp yeast;
 360 g (12 oz) flour.
 
METHOD
  1.  Mix warm milk with pumpkin puree, sugar, ½ egg and butter. Add dry yeast and set the mixture aside for 5 minutes for the yeast to activate.
  2.  Whisk salt and flour. Add dry ingredients into the liquids, stir and set aside for 10 minutes.
  3.  After 10 minutes knead the dough until smooth, form it into a ball and place into a greased bowl, cover, then set aside for 1 hour.
  4.  Divide the dough into 9 balls and tie each one of them with a cooking string loosely.
  5.  Brush each bun with some egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes at 180C/350F.
  6.  Let the buns cool down a little, remove the string and brush with melted butter. Decorate with whole roasted almond, that will imitate the stem.
