RED VELVET COOKIES: the recipe for making perfect American cookies!

INGREDIENTS (makes about 20 cookies)
280g (2 1/4 cups) all-purpose flour
10g (1 tbsp) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp red food coloring
2 tsp baking powder
1 pinch of salt
150g (2/3 cup) butter (softened)
100g (1/2 cup) muscovado sugar
80g (1/3 cup) granulated sugar
1 egg
200g (1 cup) white chocolate
METHOD
1. In a large bowl, add the softened butter, muscovado sugar, granulated sugar, and red food coloring.
2. Mix with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
3. Add the egg, baking powder, and salt, then mix until fully combined.
4. Add the flour and cocoa powder and mix until a workable dough forms.
5. Fold in the white chocolate, roughly chopped.
6. Shape the dough into balls of about 40 g each.
7. Flatten each ball between your palms to form thick discs.
8. Place the discs on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
9. Bake at 180°C/350°F for about 10–12 minutes.
