How to use puff pastry to make amazing food creations!

1 The ingenious method of making sfogliatella (Italian pastry) at home
INGREDIENTS
1 puff pastry roll
50g of melted butter
200g of ricotta
150g of jam
Powdered sugar to taste

METHOD
- Take a puff pastry roll and get three stripes out of it.
- Overlap the strips by gluing them with melted butter, then roll up.
- Put the roll in the wax paper and place it in the freezer for at least an hour.
- Once it is compact, cut the dough into slices of 1cm. Spread each slice slightly and start to flatten it creating depth.
- Fill it with ricotta and jam and close your sfogliatella.
- Bake at 190° for about 10-20 minutes and serve with powdered sugar.
2 Savory sfogliatelle
INGREDIENTS
1 rectangular sheets of puff pastry
butter
onion
salt
olive oil
2 bell peppers
1 sausage
1 egg yolk

METHOD
1. Slice the sheet of puff pastry into three strips. Brush each strip with melted butter and overlap the three strips.
2. Roll it up and freeze it for at least one hour.
3. brown the onion in some olive oil, add the bell peppers and season with salt. After about ten minutes, add the crumbled up sausage. Cook for other 10 minutes.
4. Cut the puff pastry roll into 1cm circles and shape them so they look like a sfogliatella.
5. Fill them with bell peppers, brush the top with egg wash and bake at 190° for 15/20 minutes.
