How to cook perfect eggs
METHOD:
1. Cook an egg for 6 minutes for a liquidy yolk. Perfect for ramen!
2. Cook an egg for 8 minutes for a soft but firm yolk. Perfect for avocado toast!
3. Cook an egg for 10 minutes for a slightly soft yolk. Perfect for salads!
4. Cook an egg for 12 minutes for a lighter yolk. Perfect for deviled eggs!
5. Cook an egg for 14 minutes for a very light yolk. Perfect for egg salad!
6. Use a bowl of ice water to quickly stop eggs cooking and make peeling easier.

A note on hot water versus cold water: You might have heard that you should start the eggs in room temperature or cold water and then bring them to a boil. This is a myth. According to our tests, starting with hot water yields eggs that are easier to peel—so always start by boiling your water.
