Wash the eggshells and place them in a water, boil for 10 min.
Transfer eggshells to the baking dish and bake at 200F/100C for 15 min. Grind eggshells in a blender until they become a white powder.
What is Eggshell powder and what are some benefits
Eggshells are mostly made up calcium carbonate (95%), a form very similar to our bones and teeth. Eggshell powder has positive effects on bone and cartilage and is a suitable source of calcium in the prevention of osteoporosis.
How to eat eggshell powder
One eggshell contains about 750-800 mgs of elemental calcium, so half an eggshell may provide enough calcium to meet the average daily requirements. It doesn’t affect the flavor of your food so you can add it to any dish, smoothie or even water.
How to store Eggshell powder
Use within 3 or 4 days of preparation and store in a sealed container in the fridge.
