Tips

Make it gluten-free by using gluten-free flour, or almond flour. If you prefer, use whole-wheat flour. The breadsticks will be slightly nuttier and darker in color.

The frying time will depend on the thickness of the breadsticks. If you make them thinner, reduce the fry time. Thinner breadsticks will also be crunchier.

If you prefer more crunch or flavor, you can sprinkle seasoning or seeds on the breadsticks. Use sesame seeds, freshly grated parmesan, black pepper, Everything Bagel Seasoning, or nigella seeds (onion seeds).

Feel free to add other herbs like basil, cilantro, oregano, or thyme.

Make sure to use a neutral oil suitable for frying at higher temperatures like canola oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil, or corn oil. Use a thermometer to heat the oil to about 350°F. The oil should also not be too cold, otherwise, the breadsticks will absorb too much oil, making them oily.
