Quick fritters (Pantelleria's kisses): easy and delicious italian fritters you have to try!

Everybody would love to receive these kisses! These fritters are easy, tasty and perfect to be stuffed.
This is a typical dessert from Pantelleria island, in Sicily. Despite their popularity, no one knows their origin, it is a mystery. It seems that we can only enjoy them while waiting to find out more!
INGREDIENTS
140 g of flour
1 egg
salt
30 g of sugar
200ml of milk
lemon
vanilla extract
powdered sugar

PREPARATION
1. Pour the egg, the milk and the lemon zest into a bowl.
2. Add a pinch of salt and the vanilla extract. Mix.
3. Add sugar, flour and mix everything until you get a thicker batter.
4. In the meantime, heat the oil for frying (it should reach 160°).
5. Dip the fritter mould into the hot oil for one minute to warm it up.
6. Then dip the fritter mould into the batter and then back into the oil.
7. Wait for the fritters to come off by moving the mould if needed and cook them for a few seconds on each side until they are golden brown.
8. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
